A radical Muslim
mother-of-six who urged her Facebook friends to become suicide bombers has
been jailed for more than five years.
Runa Khan, 35, was
determined to radicalise her own children and friends into fundamentalist
Jihadism in a campaign of hate on the internet and at home.
When she was arrested
police found a photo of her two-year-old son with a toy assault rifle and a
jihadist book on her phone, as well as images of her and her older children
holding a sword.
She daydreamed about
sending her eight year-old to fight jihad when he grew up.
Khan also posted a picture
to her 241 Facebook friends of an explosive vest on the social media site with
the message: ‘Sisters, if you love your sons, husbands and brothers, prove it
by sending them to fight for Allah.’
She posted a copy of an
article called ‘Sisters role in Jihad off the battlefield’ which included a
detailed programme in rearing children to be ‘mentally and emotionally
dedicated and physically prepared to conduct armed Jihad’.
She was branded highly
dangerous by a judge at Kingston Crown Court, after boasting about her devotion
to suicide bombing and terrorism.
Khan was jailed for five
years and three months.
The judge added her guilty
plea had saved her from a longer prison term.
