See What Happened To Lagos Lawyer Who Slapped Her Colleague




A lawyer operating at Igbosere Magistrates’ court in Lagos Island, Barrister Nina Lawani, has landed in trouble after slapping her colleague.

The 59-year-old lawyer was arrested by the police at the Lion Building Division, Lagos Island after she allegedly slapped her colleague, Barrister Helen Ibeji, P.M NEWS reports.
I t was disclosed that the accused lawyer was charged before a Tinubu Magistrates’ court, Lagos on a one count charge of felony to wit, unlawful assault after investigation of the alleged incident by Inspector Caroline Okoror and her team,             
The police prosecutor, Sgt. Daniel Ighodalo told the court in charge No L/196/2014 that the accused committed the offence on 18 November, 2014 at Igbosere Magistrates’court, Lagos during a struggle for a client.
He said the complainant reported to the police that her colleague slapped her on the right side of her face in public at the Igbosere Magistrates’ court premises when she tried to prevent her from snatching her client.
Ighodalo said the offence committed by the accused is punishable under section 170 of the criminal laws of Lagos State.2014.
After pleading not guilty to the crime in the open court, Magistrate Mrs O.M. Ajayi admitted Nina on bail on self recognition and adjourned the case till 18 December, 2014 for mention.
