AK Songstress is officially the 2014 Discovery for Reggae and Dancehall genre in Ghana. End of discussion!! Last year Jupiter beat the likes of kaakie, Episode etc to win the discovery slot for 2013. AK Songstress does 100% dancehall and is the first female to win this category which is keenly contested by men in that genre of music. Till date only two females have been nominated kaakie and Ak songstress in this category. Though Kaakie was not successful it was satisfying to be acknowledged by your piers as doing real dancehall. Ak Songstress after being accepted as a real dancehall artiste went a step further and won making her the official Dancehall Queen and will always be remembered as the first female to win that category.
