BREAKING NEWS: Prophet T. B. Joshua's Church Collapses

Scores of persons are reported dead and many others trapped following the collapse of a building in the premises of the Synagogue Church of All Nations, Ikotun in Lagos.

Rescue operations is on with ambulances taking injured persons out of the building. The building is said to be guest house for foreign visitors. T.B Joshua is yet to speak on the incident.

Pastor Chris Oyakhilome angry over media reports, threatens legal action -- Divorce

Pastor Chris Oyakhilome and his wife Rev. Chris Oyakhilome has expressed anger over media reports in which his wife accused him of adultery in a divorce suit in London
Rev. Oyakhilome said yesterday that the allegation was wicked, malicious and was intended to bring his person and the Christ Embassy Church to public ridicule.

According to a public notice advertorial signed by a legal practitioner, Kemi Pinheriro, SAN of the law firm, Pinheriro and Company based in Lagos, Oyakhilome said that the allegations in the media were nothing but a complete distortion of the facts in the pending proceedings in the United Kingdom.

Kemi Pinheriro warned media houses to desist from further publication of stories which were false and damaging of “our client’s reputation and the church”, stating that they could embark on appropriate legal machinery with a view to protecting their client’s reputation and that of the church

Soldiers kill 150 Boko Haram members during attack on Konduga

At least 150 Boko Haram members were killed yesterday September 12th after the Nigerian Military repeled after an attempted attack by the sect members on Konduga, a village said to be about 35 kilometres from Maiduguri in Borno State, in the early hours of yesterday.

According to a statement issued in Abuja yesterday by Col. T. Antigha of the Army Public Relations, the battle with sect members lasted three hour and four soldiers were injured during the attack. 

"At about 5.30 am today (Friday), Boko Haram terrorists launched a massive attack on Konduga town, about 35 kilometres from Maiduguri. After about three hours of fierce fighting, Nigerian troops routed the Boko Haram fighting force of over a hundred terrorists. Further to the staggering loss of men, Boko Haram also suffered extensive losses in equipment. Four Nigerian soldiers were wounded in action. The entire area is still being combed for terrorists who may have escaped with bullet wounds. Morale of troops remains very high.” the statement reads. Continue...

The Nigerian Army also said that photographs taken from the scene of the attack will be circulated once they finish processing them.

According to a military source at the 7 Division of the Nigerian Army in Maiduguri, three Hilux vans and one other Buffalo vehicle with mounted anti-aircraft guns, three general purpose machine guns and over 30 AK 47 rifles were recovered from the terrorists.

BREAKING NEWS: Benjamin Adekunle dies at 78

The War Hero, who played a key role in the Nigerian Civil War (1967-1970), Brig.-Gen Benjamin Adekunle (retd.), A.k.a “Black Scorpion”, died this morning at the age of 78.

He led the 3rd Marine Commando, that put an end to the three years Nigerian Civil War (1967-1970), who was later retired compulsorily from the Nigerian Army in 1974. More Details later…

Obama Declares "War” With IS (Islamic State

 

The White House declared Friday the United States was at war with Islamic State radicals, seeking to rub out another semantic flap over its Syria policy.

In a series of television interviews Secretary of State John Kerry had appeared to be reluctant to term the expansion of US operations against IS in Iraq and Syria as “war.”

But pressed to clear up doubts about how President Barack Obama sees the conflict, the White House and Pentagon left little doubt.

“The United States is at war with ISIL in the same way that we are at war with Al-Qaeda and its Al-Qaeda affiliates all around the globe,” said White House spokesman Josh Earnest.
Pentagon spokesman Rear Admiral John Kirby said that the US was not fighting the last Iraq war and used similar language to Earnest.

“But make no mistake, we know we are at war with ISIL in the same way we’re at war and continue to be at war with Al-Qaida and its affiliates,” he said.

Photos: Fatal accident on Lagos-Ibadan expressway

Nine persons including a child died this morning in a fatal multiple accident that occurred along the Lagos-Ibadan expressway. 

According to eyewitnesses, 2 Mazda cars collided with a Petrol tanker which immediately busted into flames. Men of the Nigeria Fire Service, Police and FRSC are currently at the scene managing the situation. The fire has since been put out but the traffic is still said to be on a standstill. Continue...

The World's tallest dog has died just days before his 6th birthday. Zeus was 3ft 6 inches tall at the shoulder and when he stood on his back legs was an incredible 7ft 4in high. He weighed 11 stone.

The giant Great Dane, who was named the world's tallest living dog in the 2012 Guinness World Records, died on September 3rd. He lived in Michigan, US, with his owners before his passing.
